OUR Partnership with Meningitis Now
In March 2026, the Chemistry community was shaken by a devastating outbreak of Meningitis B, which resulted in our community losing two young people. Our job now is to make sure their names are connected to a change that protects the next generation and that Club Chemistry is part of that change.
Why We’re Partnering with Meningitis Now
Meningitis Now is the UK’s largest meningitis charity. They fund vital research, provide support to families affected by this devastating disease and campaign for better awareness and protection. Their work saves lives, supports those left behind and fights for better vaccination and prevention across the country. By partnering with Meningitis Now, we’re proud to support their mission and help make a real difference in our community.
“We are delighted to be supporting Club Chemistry through this new partnership. Louise and her staff have worked positively and proactively in their response to the outbreak and we are pleased to see how they have engaged Public Health and Environmental Health officials to ensure they’re ready to welcome young people back to the club.
The club has an important role to play in helping young people to feel safe and to be aware of the risks of meningitis, how to prevent it, what to do should they suspect its occurrence. We look forward to working with the club and supporting the staff team through training and meningitis awareness.”
— Dr Tom Nutt, Chief Executive, Meningitis Now
What We’re Campaigning For
According to UKHSA data, every single one of the 65 confirmed cases of Meningitis in 15–19 year olds in 2025 was MenB, the only strain for which no vaccine is routinely offered to this age group. The absence of other strains shows just how effective those vaccines have been. We are calling on the government to provide everyone aged 15–25 with access to that life-saving vaccine and we will keep pushing for the national catch-up programme that young people in this country deserve.
Our Annual Meningitis Awareness Campaign
Every March, starting in 2027, we will hold a Meningitis Awareness Night, a fundraiser and a platform to make sure this community never forgets and never stops protecting itself.
Sign the Petition
This petition, started by Marissa after losing her son Alfie, is pushing for the vaccine to be rolled out to everyone who missed it and we fully support her campaign. 🔗 Alfie’s Legacy — Give 16–25 year olds the MenB vaccine

About Meningitis Now
Meningitis Now is the UK’s leading meningitis charity, founded 40 years ago by families who had experienced the heartbreak of losing a loved one to the disease. The charity is the only organisation in the UK dedicated to fighting meningitis on three fronts:
Awareness: Equipping the public with the knowledge to recognise meningitis quickly and ensuring more people are protected through vaccination campaigns.
Support: Providing practical, emotional, and financial support to individuals and families whose lives have been changed by meningitis, helping them rebuild their futures.
Research: Funding pioneering projects to understand the disease better, improve diagnosis and treatment, and ultimately move closer to a world free from meningitis.
Meningitis Now’s “No Plan B for MenB” campaign calls for three things:
The MenB vaccination to be given to all those at most risk of disease.
A MenB booster programme to protect adolescents by 2030.
Availability of the MenB vaccination on the high street at a fair price.
